Junior Achievement, the amazing non-profit that teaches students life and business skills outside of the everyday school curriculum, has a program in South Florida called “Biztown.” It gives children hands-on experience with a real-life company.
Today, I will be spending the day with an excited group of youngsters at the Junior Achievement Facilities located at the Broward College.
While I may be missing out on a day of work, I deem my productivity level much higher than usual for the day. Being able to help children become the business-minded, free-thinking, and creative individuals that I was so late to become is an invaluable gift that I am blessed to be able to be a part of so early in others’ lives.
I love that programs like this exist and I foresee more and more similar programs coming to fruition in the near future.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to post a review of my day with the kids sometime next week.
