Identifying three words for the forthcoming year has become a thing. I’ve been doing it for the past few years on this blog. This year is no exception.
- Family: This should almost be obvious. You don’t have 1 month year old twins and put your family on the top of your priority list. Family should be there anyway, but the first part of this year is crucial for daddy-daughter and daddy-son time. My intentions are to be home from the office much earlier every day and continue helping my wife with late night diaper changes and feedings.
- Focus: I try to do too much. Always. While I may be great at delegating and automating most things, I still can do a better job of focusing on a few tasks per day, and more importantly, a few passion projects at a time. I need to stop spreading myself too thin.
- Punctuality: Being early is on time. Being on time is late. Being late is unacceptable. I no longer want to make excuses for my crazy schedule. If I’m going to be late to something, I should change the arrangements ahead of time. It’s unfair to those that I keep waiting. This could also be bucketed under “focus,” but this is so important that it has to be it’s own thing.
