Ready, Fire, Aim!

Shout out to Greg Rollett of Ambitious.com for reminding me of one of my favorite product launch methodologies.

Instead of “Ready, Aim, Fire,” we should be iterating quicker and with more agility. We can get so caught up in the “Aim” step of that process. So much so that some don’t even get to “Fire,” or the release of their product to the market. 

To me, and to many smart innovators nowadays, that’s not an effective way to prove a concept and evolve over time. 

Next time you lay out your product release plan, consider launching before finding out EXACTLY who might be interested in what you’re putting out there. It could turn out that a completely different demographic is who is interested in your product. In finding out by testing the market in the wild, you don’t waste a ton of money and resource on ad targeting.
