Clandestine

kept secret or done secretively, especially because illicit.

I enjoy learning new words. You’ll often find me using these new words to inspire a post.

Today’s word, clandestine, not only sounds cool phonetically, but it also can replace the all too-often used word in tech, “stealth.”

But not really….

Something is only clandestine if it’s illicit or forbidden. So if a startup is keeping their operations low-key because they’re doing something suspect, then they could be considered to be in “Clandestine Mode.”

Hackers could be considered clandestine, though. They are always secretly doing their work from afar, and too many of them are working nefariously.

Clandestine – learn it, use it, remember it. It’s a good word.
